I’m happy to announce that I am now certified in Transformational Nutrition!badge-itn This certification allows me to sit for the board exam in Holistic Nutrition. Woot! Woot!

A few months ago I wrote about what I called the 3 A’s of Aliveness. (You can read that post here.) Around the same time this concept came to me, I began researching nutrition schools. The school that stuck out the most to me was the Institute of Transformational Nutrition.  Unlike most nutrition/holistic nutrition schools, there is a focus on not only the science but also the psychological and spiritual aspects of nutrition and well-being. The emphasis is on the root cause–What’s really going on? This is in alignment with what I began to see unfolding in my own life. We are more than just physical bodies and when you work with all areas of your life, magical things happen. So, I took the plunge and signed up.

We all know what we should and shouldn’t eat. We know sodas and fast food are horrible for our health. We know fruits and veggies are our friends. Why can’t we seem to break the habits? Why is it so hard to lose weight and keep it off?

Sometimes what we think the problem is isn’t really the problem at all. It is something that can seem completely unrelated to what we’re experiencing. We have got to stop treating the symptoms and start looking further into the cause of WHY we are experiencing these symptoms. This could be something as simple as a nutritional deficiency or food intolerance that’s wreaking havoc on the inside. It can be tough to identify at times and could go outside the scope of nutrition. It’s important to have a team of practitioners that can work together to assist you and provide support.

Here’s the thing. We’re missing out on a lot of life and experiences because of our health. We’re too tired, too fat, too stressed, too busy, and too sick. We try to fix the problem with caffeine, alcohol, and pills. All of which are exacerbating the problems. We’re getting sicker and fatter. We’re numbing out. We’re essentially checking out of life. Kids now have a life expectancy that is SHORTER than their parents. Enough is enough! We deserve to live better than this. We deserve to be happy and energetic and live life to our fullest potential. What’s the point of living if you’re not really living?

It’s time for a change. I’m happily stepping up to assist in that change. In what ways can I assist you? What do you struggle with the most when it comes to your health?
